Tinubu Condemns Over 100 Kwara Killings, Orders Military Deployment to Kaiama LGA

 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has strongly condemned the recent killings in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, describing the attack as cowardly and unacceptable.

In a statement shared on his official X handle, the

 President disclosed that he met with the Governor of

 Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, to receive a

 briefing on the incident, which occurred in Worro

 community.

Tinubu said he had directed the immediate

 deployment of an army battalion to Kaiama LGA to

 strengthen security presence in the area. According

 to him, the new military formation will spearhead

 Operation Savannah Shield, aimed at confronting

 terrorist elements and safeguarding vulnerable

 communities.

The President described the attackers as heartless for

 targeting innocent villagers, stressing that their

 actions offend the nation’s shared values and

 humanity. He noted that preliminary reports

 indicated that the victims were allegedly killed after

 resisting attempts at forced indoctrination.

“It is particularly disturbing that the victims were

 targeted for rejecting extremism,” the President

 stated, adding that Nigeria would not surrender its

 citizens to terrorism or violence carried out under

 the guise of religion.

Tinubu further directed federal and state security

 agencies to work closely to ensure that those

 responsible are apprehended and prosecuted. He

 also ordered that immediate relief and support be

 provided to affected families and the community.

The President extended his condolences to the

 families of the victims and expressed solidarity with

 the people and government of Kwara State,

 reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment

 to protecting communities and restoring peace.
