Troops of Sector 7, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), have rescued eight kidnapped victims during a coordinated security operation at Badurum Kasa Forest in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The operation, which took place on January 28,
2026, was carried out following credible
intelligence on the activities of suspected
kidnappers operating within the forest.
The troops, working in collaboration with the
Zango Kataf Police Area Command, Civilian Joint
Task Force (CJTF), Forest Guards and local
hunters, advanced into the hideout of the
criminals. On sighting the joint security team, the
kidnappers reportedly abandoned their captives
and fled into nearby bushes.
All eight victims were rescued unharmed and
later reunited with their families.
Those rescued include Rashida Musa (19), Hafsat
Nuhu (18), Zakari Saleh (52), Hasiya Yahaya (13),
Ahmed Yahaya (14), Ibrahim Saiba (11), Salma
Yahaya (14) and Sophan Idris (18).
The Nigerian Army said the successful operation
underscores the effectiveness of inter-agency
collaboration, timely intelligence, and sustained
efforts to protect lives and deny criminal
elements freedom of action. Source:-@HQNigerian Army
