The United States government has officially condemned a deadly attack on the family of a prominent clergyman in Plateau State, calling for a swift investigation and justice for the victims.
The attack occurred in Plateau State, targeting family members of Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, a regional leader in the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN). Nine members of his family were killed during the assault.
In an official statement, the US Bureau of African Affairs described the killings as "horrific" and voiced deep concern over security threats facing communities in Nigeria's Middle Belt.
Washington stated that American officials have already spoken directly with Nigerian authorities, urging them to step up protection efforts and hold those responsible accountable.
